As Easter approaches, I find myself drawn to the idea of a beautifully formal yet understated lunch or brunch setting. It’s the little details that truly make a table setting special, and for this occasion, I’ve been inspired to create a stunning spring tablescape with just the right touch of Easter.
For this setting, I’ve chosen to incorporate the Hester and Cook derby floral placemats and place cards, which add a touch of sophistication to the table. These derby wreath placemats wrap the place setting in delicate flowers and rich greenery, abundant in both bold and pastel blooms. This floral designs set the tone for a refined yet welcoming table, perfect for our celebrating Easter this year.
To complement the floral placemats, I’ve opted for classic ivory linen napkins with a tiny little bunny embroidered in the corner, adding a touch of whimsy to the table. Small mossy nests filled with velvet eggs are placed on each plate to add a natural, rustic element to the setting. These nests coordinate with the floral centerpiece and incorporate nature and the renewal of spring.
Along side the nests, I have chosen to include gold-wrapped chocolate-covered bunnies, adding a touch of indulgence and sweetness to each place setting. These delightful treats serve as a playful nod to the Easter holiday, bringing joy and delight to the table.
In addition to these charming details, vintage bunnies, dressed in old-fashioned attire, are carefully placed around the table, adding a whimsical and nostalgic touch to the setting. These charming figurines, reminiscent of a bygone era, contribute to the overall sense of warmth and celebration that I aim to create.
I decided to use my grandmother’s cherished flatware she gave me several years ago, alongside my wedding China and vintage dishes collected from Maine. The combination of these heirloom pieces adds a sense of history and tradition to the table, infusing the setting with a rich tapestry of memories and cherished moments.
As I prepare for this Easter lunch, I am reminded of the joy that comes from creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere for my loved ones. It’s these moments of togetherness and celebration that make the effort of setting a beautiful table all the more meaningful. I look forward to sharing this special occasion with family and friends, surrounded by the simple elegance of a stunning spring tablescape, with just the right touch of Easter.
